The Arroyo Dons will challenge the Ferndale Wildcats at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Arroyo and San Lorenzo had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Dons took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 68-6 victory over the Grizzlies. With the Dons ahead 48-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Jonah Shelton was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 191 yards and five TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. Those five passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Robert Mcgehee was Shelton's top target, picking up 68 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Arroyo, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Ricky Wyatt, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Arroyo's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jordan Nguyen, Jason Cordova, and Austin Celzo, who each picked up one sack apiece. Elijah Hickman was another major factor on D, making four total tackles and defending two passes in addition to snagging two interceptions.
Meanwhile, Ferndale hadn't done well against Arcata recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wildcats blew past the Tigers, posting a 48-6 win. The victory was just business as usual for the Wildcats, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.
Arroyo better keep an eye on Tanner Pidgeon. He was instrumental in Ferndale's win, rushing for 206 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per carry. Pidgeon showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 65 yards.
Ferndale didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Tyler Broderick, Luke Dixon, and Rolland Mcclurg picked up one apiece. Dixon is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least six every time he's taken the field this season.
Ferndale's win bumped their record up to 10-0. As for Arroyo, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
Saturday's contest might be decided on the ground. Arroyo has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 176.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Ferndale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 245.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
