The Freer Buckaroos had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat La Villa 62-23 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-14.
Freer was led to victory by Jayda Washington and Samantha Barker. Washington dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Barker scored 22 points along with five steals. Washington is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy McQuagge, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.
Freer is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for La Villa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
Freer will look to defend their home court on Friday against Kaufer at 6:30 p.m. Kaufer is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for La Villa, they will head out on the road to face off against Agua Dulce at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Agua Dulce is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
