Baseball Recap: Berks Catholic Has No Trouble Against Schuylkill Valley

After only two runs in their last match, Berks Catholic made sure to put some runs up on the board against Schuylkill Valley on Friday. The Saints blew past the Panthers 13-6. The Saints might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Mikey Fidler was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Berks Catholic's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Jack Wentzel also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Berks Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Schuylkill Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Berks Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Schuylkill Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Pottstown at 4:00 p.m.
