Chowchilla (Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat
Kerman (Calif.), 29-0, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Patrick Flanagan in the second quarter, the Redskins led 14-0 at the half.
Chowchilla expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by
Devaughn Gaines.
Gaines played well for the Redskins in the victory. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown. He has now scored five touchdowns on the season.
Chowchilla came in allowing an average of 26.6 points per game this season. CHS held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Lions well below the 12.0 points it had been averaging per game.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Redskins came away with a 41-22 victory.
The loss comes after Kerman defeated Dos Palos 28-21 last week. With the win Chowchilla extended its winning streak to four games.
Chowchilla (4-2) goes up against Washington Union in a North Sequoia game matchup next week, while Kerman (2-4) locks horns with Yosemite also in a North Sequoia game.
