The Parker Thundering Herd will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Clay-Chalkville Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Parker walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 35-20 win over the Titans on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chancellor Sparks, who rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Sparks was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. Naeem Offord was another key contributor, rushing for 43 yards and three touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Parker's defense and their seven sacks. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.
Meanwhile, Clay-Chalkville put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Muscle Shoals with points to spare, taking the game 44-27.
Their wins bumped Parker to 12-1 and Gadsden City to 9-4.
Parker won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in November of 2022, slipping by Clay-Chalkville 7-6. Will Parker repeat their success, or does Clay-Chalkville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
