After two games on the road, Spooner is heading back home. They will take on the Cumberland Beavers at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Last Tuesday, Spooner got the win against Chetek-Weyerhaeuser  by a conclusive  11-1.
 Meanwhile, Cumberland had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by  a  23-4 margin over the Oredockers.
  Morgan Monchilovich made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Monchilovich was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring four  runs while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
 In other batting news, Cumberland got a  massive  performance out of  Baleigh Stouffer, who  scored four  runs while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Macy Beecroft, who  scored two  runs while going 4-for-5.
 Spooner is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record  this season. As for Cumberland, they pushed their record up to 6-7 with that  win, which was their third straight  at home.
 Spooner came out on top in a nail-biter against Cumberland  in their previous meeting  back in May of 2023, sneaking past  15-13. Does  Spooner have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cumberland turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
