North Delta hasn't had much luck against Marshall Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Green Wave will challenge the Patriots at 4:00 p.m. North Delta will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
North Delta barely beat Kirk Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Green Wave were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Raiders on Thursday. The Green Wave might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Owens Johnson was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jett Manning, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Herron Williams was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
North Delta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Marshall Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Indianola Academy by a score of 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Gage Todd was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Todd, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
North Delta pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Marshall Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. North Delta has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Marshall Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
