The Lewiston Bengals suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 58-35 loss at the hands of Coeur d'Alene. While losing is never fun, Lewiston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Coeur d'Alene is ranked fifth).
It was another big night for Maddie Mitchell, who scored 23 points for Coeur d'Alene. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Holecek, who scored ten points.
Lewiston's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 7-11. As for Coeur d'Alene, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Lewiston will head out on the road to take on Lake City at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake City is coming into the game hot, having won their last 12 games. As for Coeur d'Alene, they will be playing at home against Post Falls at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Post Falls focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
