After flying high against the Bradford Railroaders last Thursday, the Arcanum Trojans came back down to earth. Arcanum was dealt a 80-49 defeat at the hands of Carroll on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Arcanum has suffered since December 9, 2023.
Despite the defeat, Arcanum saw an underclassman step up: Caroline Long scored 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Leeper, who scored ten points.
Arcanum's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Carroll, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arcanum will square off against Madison at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Madison will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Carroll, they will head out on the road to take on Archbishop McNicholas at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
