It was a good run, but the Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes Storm unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Douglass 69-63. While losing is never fun, Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 399th in Texas, while Douglass is ranked 13th in Tennessee).
Douglass was led to victory by Taquez Butler and Jarmon Brittman. Butler scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals, while Brittman dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds. The contest was Brittman's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrence Holly, who scored 9 points.
Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes' loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Douglass, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Southwest Christian School at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for Douglass, they will face off against Minnesota Preparation Academy, TRIP at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Minnesota Preparation Academy, TRIP is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
