Softball Recap: Idaho City Has No Trouble Against Garden Valley

Idaho City hadn't done well against Garden Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Wolverines. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Makayla Barber, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Kindelberger, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Idaho City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .811. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .627 or higher in five consecutive games.

Idaho City is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 27.8 runs over those games. As for Garden Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coincidentally, Idaho City and Garden Valley will both be playing Notus the next time they take the field. The Wolverines will head out to face the Pirates at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
