The South Harrison Hawks will square off against the Ritchie County Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Harrison will be strutting in after a victory while Ritchie County will be coming in after a defeat.
South Harrison's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Braxton County. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Colton Patterson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Patterson was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Jaxon Anderson and Mason Belcastro did most of the damage at the plate: Anderson went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Belcastro got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. That's the most hits Anderson has posted since back in April of 2025. Brogan Medina was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.
South Harrison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Braxton County only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Ritchie County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against East Fairmont, falling 19-4.
Ritchie County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Turner Shriver, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one double. Another was Teagan Backus, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
South Harrison's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Ritchie County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
South Harrison was able to grind out a solid win over Ritchie County in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 9-5. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
