Monticello hasn't had much luck against Bloomington Central Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Meanwhile, Bloomington Central Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Peoria Notre Dame on Wednesday, taking the game 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Saints.
Monticello's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
