Basketball Recap: Cook's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Cook needed a changed in momentum after dropping eight straight games and they got it from Tucker Rountree. The Cook Hornets managed a 72-68 win over the Pierce County Bears on Tuesday thanks in part to Rountree, who dropped a double-double on 37 points and 12 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Cook's points.

Another player making a difference was Ethan Rayburn, who posted 11 points and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Cook's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-12. As for Pierce County, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Cook didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-49 loss against Brooks County on the 8th. As for Pierce County, they will host Crisp County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Crisp County will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Pierce County surely won't give up without a fight.
