After a string of four wins, Easley HomeSchool's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Providence Athletic Club Panthers. The Guardians were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in December of 2022.
Providence Athletic Club's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Freeman Bult, who went 6 of 14 en route to 16 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Bult a new career-high in assists (three). Another player making a difference was Sam Cargo, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.
Easley HomeSchool's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-2. As for Providence Athletic Club, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.
Easley HomeSchool will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Laurens Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. After both having extra time off, Providence Athletic Club and Wardlaw Academy will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
