Softball Recap: Lake Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lake waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Forest Bearcats get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hornets also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2018.

Amaure'I Jones was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alaina Alford, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Lake pushed their record up to 6-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Lake will challenge Morton at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Forest, they will face off against Scott Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Scott Central has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.25 runs per game on average), something Forest will no doubt try to take advantage of.
