There's no place like home for the Lamar Raiders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They took their game at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 61-24 win over Park Place Christian Academy. Given Lamar's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Park Place Christian Academy is ranked 208th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Lamar to victory were Blake Hart and Aryah Grace. Hart scored 20 points along with five steals, while Grace dropped a triple-double on 34 points, 12 rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Grace has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Dudley Reed, who scored five points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
Lamar's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-12. As for Park Place Christian Academy, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will take on Meridian HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Park Place Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wayne Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
