The Flanagan Falcons will take on the ABF Academy Cowboys in a tournament on Wednesday.
Flanagan's tournament run continued when they took on King's Academy on Tuesday. Flanagan fell just short of King's Academy by a score of 5-4. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ethan Cabrera was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in February.
At the plate, Carter Roberts was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run.
Meanwhile, ABF Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Boca Raton 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cowboys.
Gian Luigi Ospina made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of ABF Academy's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 3-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't). Ospina was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Back at the plate, Jose Perozo was excellent, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kevin Bravo, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.
ABF Academy now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Flanagan, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Flanagan hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like ABF Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
