The Wellington School Jaguars struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (the Grove City Christian Eagles had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Wellington School took a hard 60-44 fall against Grove City Christian. Wellington School has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wellington School lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Michael Adams, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malcolm Wade, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grove City Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Ransom, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Ransom hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. Seth Vaughn was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds.
Wellington School has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Grove City Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellington School won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Grandview Heights at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. Grandview Heights is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Grove City Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Rosecrans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Rosecrans is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
