Pacific Grove is a perfect 7-0 against Monte Vista Christian since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Breakers will host the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Pacific Grove will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Pacific Grove got the win against North Monterey County by a conclusive 16-1. Considering the Breakers have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Pacific Grove got a massive performance out of Emma Von Ruden, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Von Ruden a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isis Turner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Pacific Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Monte Vista Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against Rancho San Juan by a score of 10-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Gianna Johnson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 11 hits.
At the plate, Addie Boles was a standout: she fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and one double while going 5-for-5. Another player making a difference was Kayla Fullalove-Silveira, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles.
Pacific Grove's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Monte Vista Christian, their win bumped their record up to 11-13.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pacific Grove has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. However, it's not like Monte Vista Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .472. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
