Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson County Christian Royals vs. Cornerstone Prep

Jefferson County Christian has gone 4-0 against Cornerstone Prep recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Jefferson County Christian Royals will host Cornerstone Prep at 7:00 p.m. Jefferson County Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Jefferson County Christian didn't have too much trouble with Plants and Pillars HomeSchool as they won 49-33.

Jefferson County Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lee Gump, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Gump is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mark Jenkins, who went 5 of 12 en route to 10 points along with five assists and four steals.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Prep had to kick off their season on the road back in December of 2024, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Westmoreland Christian Academy 64-30. Cornerstone Prep pushed the score to 52-23 by the end of the third, a deficit Westmoreland Christian Academy had little chance of recovering from.

Jefferson County Christian's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Cornerstone Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Everything went Jefferson County Christian's way against Cornerstone Prep in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Jefferson County Christian made off with a 62-40 win.
