Can't Touch This
Winter Park got a 38 - 3 win over Boone last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Peter Hayes-Patrick. Hayes-Patrick earned three touchdowns and 217 yards rushing the ball. In fact, our algorithms singled out Hayes-Patrick as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between DeLand (7th in the power rankings) and Flagler Palm Coast (14th). DeLand got a somewhat close 10 - 3 victory over Flagler Palm Coast. The win raised DeLand up two spots in the power rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
The match between Oviedo and Lake Brantley last week put some strain on the scoreboard; in fact, with a total of 86 final points, it was the highest scoring contest in the power rankings for the week. It was a close one, but Oviedo sidestepped Lake Brantley for the 44 - 42 win. The Lake Brantley defense has struggled this season (giving up an average of 30 points per game), and Oviedo took advantage of that.
Next Week's Big Game
