The Glenns Ferry Pilots will challenge the Hagerman Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hagerman took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Glenns Ferry, who comes in off a win.
Glenns Ferry took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Rimrock as they made off with a 50-30 win. The Pilots haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Glenns Ferry had a senior duo take command as Sahira Arevalo dropped a triple-double with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 steals and Zeidy Reynaga shot 47% from the field on her way to 21 points and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Arevalo has scored at least a third of the Pilots' points. Klaira King also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
Glenns Ferry was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.
Meanwhile, Hagerman was just a bucket shy of victory on Monday and fell 40-39 to Dietrich. The Pirates have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Addi Chizum was Hagerman's leading scorer, having posted ten points. Chizum also led the team in rebounds with six.
Glenns Ferry's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Hagerman, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Glenns Ferry has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 38.4 boards per game. However, it's not like Hagerman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 22.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Glenns Ferry against Hagerman in their previous meeting back in January, as the squad secured a 48-13 victory. In that contest, the Pilots amassed a halftime lead of 29-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
