Brooklynn Richardson was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Morgan Fairbourne was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Springville hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.
Spanish Fork never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Timpview on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Thunderbirds a 12-0 shutout. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Dons' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
The team relied heavily on Lia Higginson, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Leila Donegan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Springville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Spanish Fork, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Spanish Fork's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Springville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .394. It's a different story for Spanish Fork, though, as they've only averaged .252. Will they be able to contain Springville's hitters?
