The Globe Tigers suffered their biggest loss since December 11, 2023 on Wednesday. They were dealt a 69-31 loss at the hands of Benjamin Franklin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Globe in their matchups with Benjamin Franklin: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Globe had strong showings from Jonas Dillon, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, and Josiah Cutter, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Globe struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Benjamin Franklin racked up 13 assists.
Benjamin Franklin's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Pluid, who scored 14 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pluid has scored all season. Kyle Mott was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds.
Globe has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which is still a better percentage than their 5-17 record this season. As for Benjamin Franklin, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Globe will challenge Coolidge at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in Coolidge's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home while Globe has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road. As for Benjamin Franklin, they will square off against Gilbert Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gilbert Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully Benjamin Franklin likes a good challenge.
