Baseball Recap: Freedom Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

While Freedom put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Louis E. Dieruff. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Huskies. Considering the Patriots have won four games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Darien Serrano's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Patrick Kiefner and Michael Cobb did most of the damage at the plate: Kiefner got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Cobb scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, Cobb posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Ryan Kullman was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Freedom's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Louis E. Dieruff, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Coming up, Freedom will take on Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. As for Louis E. Dieruff, they will head out on the road to face off against East Stroudsburg North at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
