Softball Recap: Coronado Gets the Win

After only one run in their last game, Coronado made sure to put some runs up on the board against Crawford on Friday. The Islanders' pitcher stepped up to hand the Colts a 17-0 shutout. The Islanders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.

Sammy Aldworth was incredible, going 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Chloe Fledderjohn was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Coronado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Coronado's record is now 7-11. As for Crawford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

When Coronado and Crawford next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Islanders will take on Mission Bay and their three-game winning streak at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Coronado 4, the Buccaneers 1.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Crawford will try to stop Morse's three-game winning streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
