The Crest Chargers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Parkwood Wolf Pack at 7:30 p.m. Crest has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 497 points over their last ten matches.
Crest put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 39-14 margin over Kings Mountain.
Crest's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ny?tavious Huskey, who rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 48 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Aiden Carson, who rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Crest's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Kings Mountain's QB won't forget Derek Mitchell anytime soon given Mitchell sacked him five times.
Meanwhile, Parkwood had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Piedmont with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 21-7. The win was just what Parkwood needed coming off of a 42-0 loss in their prior contest.
Isaiah Boulware-jones was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 57 yards and a touchdown.
Crest's win was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 10-0. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 7-3 Shelby and 7-3 Burns (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64% over those games). As for Parkwood, their win bumped their record up to 2-8.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Crest has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.4 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Parkwood, though, as they've been averaging only 54.9 per game. How will Parkwood fare against such a dominant running game?
