While losing is never fun, Augusta Prep Day can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 478th, while Briarwood Academy is ranked 114th).
Sara Beth Trotter was Augusta Prep Day's leading scorer, having posted no points.
Briarwood Academy was led to victory by Kennedy Mosley and Caroline Stapleton. Mosley dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Stapleton scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Mosley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Emma Scott was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Augusta Prep Day's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Briarwood Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-3.
Augusta Prep Day will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Thomas Jefferson Academy at 6:00 p.m. Augusta Prep Day is coming into the game with five straight defeats at home, meaning Thomas Jefferson Academy will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Briarwood Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Edmund Burke Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Briarwood Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
