Mission Vista is 2-8 against Oceanside since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Mission Vista will head out on the road to challenge the Oceanside Pirates at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Mission Vista's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
Mission Vista suffered their biggest loss since December 6, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 99-64 loss at the hands of Rancho Buena Vista. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (60), Mission Vista still had to take the loss.
Meanwhile, Oceanside's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 57-37 loss at the hands of El Camino. While losing is never fun, Oceanside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 641st, while El Camino is ranked 179th).
Mission Vista's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Oceanside, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.
Mission Vista won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2022, slipping by Oceanside 43-42. Will Mission Vista repeat their success, or does Oceanside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
