The Greendale Panthers will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Franklin Sabers at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Greendale suffered their biggest loss since December 12, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 74-54 loss to Muskego might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Greendale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 194th, while Muskego is ranked 16th).
Despite the defeat, Greendale saw an underclassman step up: Peyton Yoder dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Greta Dombrowski, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Franklin won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They were dealt a 58-30 defeat at the hands of Brookfield East. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Franklin has scored all season.
Greendale bumped their record down to 7-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Greendale ended up a good deal behind Franklin in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, losing 57-43. Thankfully for Greendale, Taylor Wojcinski (who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
