Baseball Recap: Lane Tech Finds Home Field Redemption Against Spring Hill

There's no place like home for Lane Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 19-7 margin over the Spring Hill Raiders on Wednesday. With that victory, the Champions brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Lane Tech let Tyler Trapp and Teo Greco run wild. Trapp got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Greco went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those four runs gave Trapp a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Conor Sullivan, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Lane Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

The win snapped Lane Tech's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record. As for Spring Hill, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Lane Tech has already played their next matchup, a 6-0 defeat against Collierville on the 27th. As for Spring Hill, they will square off against Lincoln County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lincoln County will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
