Basketball Game Preview: Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors vs. Prospect Ridge Academy Miners

The Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Eagle Ridge Academy is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Jefferson Academy on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Eagle Ridge Academy had to suffer through a 56-28 loss at the hands of Jefferson Academy. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 111th).

Madi DiLorenzo put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.

Meanwhile, Prospect Ridge Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They took a 42-26 bruising from Forge Christian.

Eagle Ridge Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Eagle Ridge Academy suffered a grim 59-39 defeat to Prospect Ridge Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Prospect Ridge Academy's Kayah Robbins, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 27 rebounds.
