The Acadiana Rams will square off against the Sulphur Golden Tors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Acadiana will be strutting in after a victory while Sulphur will be coming in after a loss.
On Tuesday, Acadiana got the win against Eunice by a conclusive 3-0.
Acadiana walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-9, 25-16.
Jordan Trotter was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had six aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September.
Meanwhile, Sulphur was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Barbe, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Golden Tors have suffered against the Buccaneers since October 16, 2018.
Sulphur was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Barbe work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-22, 25-18.
Sulphur's defeat dropped their record down to 10-21. As for Acadiana, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Acadiana has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6 aces per game. However, it's not like Sulphur struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.3 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
