Cloudcroft has struggled against Mesilla Valley Christian School recently, as their contest on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Mesilla Valley Christian School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nevaeh Benjamin led the charge by scoring 13 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Benjamin has scored at least 25% of Mesilla Valley Christian School's points. Avalyn Dwyer was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Cloudcroft now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Mesilla Valley Christian School, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Cloudcroft will be playing at home against Carrizozo at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Carrizozo is ranked 66th, while Cloudcroft is ranked 47th). Mesilla Valley Christian School will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Hatch Valley at 1:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hatch Valley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
