The Walker Wolverines waltzed into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins but they left with five. They secured a 48-43 W over North Cobb Christian. The score was all tied up 20-20 at the break, but Walker was the better team in the second half.
Walker found their leader in underclassman Moustapha Diop, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Diop has scored at least 25% of Walker's points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Pipes, who scored 11 points.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabe Bolden, who scored 10 points. The contest was Bolden's third in a row with at least ten points. Grant Robich was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 rebounds.
Walker's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for North Cobb Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Walker will be playing at home against Therrell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Therrell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Walker is ranked 77th). As for North Cobb Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Business Engineering Science Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Business Engineering Science Tech comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
