Rivendell Academy lost to the Poultney Blue Devils back in December of 2022, but Rivendell Academy didn't allow the Poultney Blue Devils the same satisfaction on Thursday. Rivendell Academy came out on top against Poultney by a score of 43-32. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Rivendell Academy.
Rivendell Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Payton Gray, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaylee Carter, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Rivendell Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Poultney, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rivendell Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Long Trail at 3:00 p.m. on January 6th. Long Trail will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Poultney, they will head out on the road to face off against Mt. St. Joseph Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Vermont (Mt. St. Joseph Academy is ranked 39th, while Poultney is ranked 40th).
