Basketball Recap: Frankfort Comes Up Short

Frankfort lost against West Lafayette back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Frankfort Hot Dogs were beaten by the West Lafayette Red Devils 73-39. The Hot Dogs' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Despite the loss, Frankfort had strong showings from Lucas Waggoner, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 15 points, and RJ Cornman, who posted nine points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. Waggoner is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaac Adams, who put up seven points and six boards.

Frankfort's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for West Lafayette, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

Frankfort didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-49 win against Clinton Central on the 25th. As for West Lafayette, they will host North Montgomery at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Lafayette is facing North Montgomery at the right time seeing as North Montgomery is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
