Baseball Recap: Herrin Has No Trouble Against Trico

Herrin's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They blew past the Trico Pioneers 10-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jaxon Hudson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on three hits.

At the plate, Tanner Hall was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Nick Hubbard was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Herrin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 9-13. As for Trico, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Herrin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Carbondale on the 14th. Trico has also already played their next game (against Anna-Jonesboro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
