Gloucester County Christian hasn't had much luck against Atlantic Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Conquerors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 3:30 p.m.
King's Christian hit Gloucester County Christian with a five-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Conquerors took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.
Claire Wolf made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Wentz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Atlantic Christian entered their tilt with Calvary Academy on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Warrior 13-4. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.
Ava Nixon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taylor Sutton, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jojo Weeks, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Atlantic Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Gloucester County Christian now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Atlantic Christian, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
