Three missed two-point conversions cost
Tularosa (N.M.) as it fell 28-24 to
Ruidoso (N.M.).
The Warriors were up 14-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Bryce Pompos in the second quarter.
Ruidoso saw its 14-point halftime lead fall to nine entering the fourth.
RHS was ahead by as much as 15 before the Wildcats pulled closer.
Pompos played well for the Warriors in the victory. The senior quarterback ran for one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 15-14 win for Ruidoso.
The loss comes after Tularosa defeated Loving 50-0 last week.
In a non-conference game next week Ruidoso (6-0) takes on Silver, and Tularosa (4-2) will go up against Cloudcroft also in a non-conference game.
