Penns Grove's and Schalick's game last Friday was close at halftime, but Penns Grove turned on the heat in the second half with 14 points. Penns Grove took their contest against Schalick by a conclusive 35-14 score. The win was familiar territory for Penns Grove, who now have six in a row.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Cumberland, and their matchup last Saturday only extended their streak of losses to six. They suffered a grim 0-32 defeat to Cherry Hill East. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Penns Grove's victory lifted them to 6-0 while Cumberland's defeat dropped them down to 0-6. In their victory, Penns Grove relied heavily on junior Jamar Johnson, who rushed for 135 yards and 3 touchdowns. Cumberland will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
