Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian is 2-8 against Fremont since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Braves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 10:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fremont will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Braves never let Fort Wayne Canterbury get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory.
Jacob Jackson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Parker Bennett was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Kyler Wood was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Wayne Canterbury only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Fremont made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lakewood Park Christian on Friday. The Eagles blew past the Panthers 10-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Tyler Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Cayden Hufnagle and Colten Guthrie did most of the damage at the plate: Hufnagle went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two doubles, while Guthrie went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Guthrie is becoming a predictor of Fremont's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Foster, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Fremont, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.
