The Columbia Academy Cougars lost against the Oak Forest Academy Yellowjackets back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Columbia Academy was the victim of a tough 56-32 defeat at the hands of the Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, Columbia Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 199th in Mississippi, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 41st in Louisiana).
Oak Forest Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trendan Spears, who scored 20 points. Spears has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Leonard Brumfield jr., who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Columbia Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Oak Forest Academy, they pushed their record up to 20-7 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Columbia Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Oak Forest Academy will head out on the road to challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Silliman Institute is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
