The Rogers Vikings were the 63-26 winner over the Mt. Hope Huskies when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Rogers received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 38-22 to Mt. Hope.
Emily Moran was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 14 points along with nine blocks and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Butterworth, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Rogers' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-1. As for Mt. Hope, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Rogers will be playing in front of their home fans against Ponaganset at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Hope won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Smithfield at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th.
