Even though the Hardin-Central Bulldogs scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, the Wellington-Napoleon Tigers still came out on top. Wellington-Napoleon took their contest against the Bulldogs 62-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wellington-Napoleon.
It was another big night for Trotter Hughes, who scored 34 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Haden Terrill, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five blocks.
Wellington-Napoleon has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. As for Hardin-Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
Wellington-Napoleon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Saints at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. St. Paul Lutheran is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. Hardin-Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on February 12th.
