The Fayetteville Bulldogs are ranked highly in their home state, and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Owasso Rams. Fayetteville managed a 69-65 win over Owasso. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Owasso's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jax Kerr, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Boden Williams, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
The win (which was Fayetteville's third in a row) raised their record to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Owasso, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
Coincidentally, Fayetteville and Owasso will both be playing North Little Rock the next time they take the court. Owasso will head out to face North Little Rock at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Fayetteville will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
