The Bishop Verot Vikings won against the Canterbury Cougars on Wednesday with 70 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Bishop Verot blew past Canterbury 70-41 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Bishop Verot who now have five in a row.
Bishop Verot got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gavin Williams out in front who scored 26 points along with five assists and four steals. The matchup was Williams' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Jerry Ashley was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Bishop Verot's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Canterbury, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Bishop Verot won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cape Coral at 9:00 p.m. on December 16th. Cape Coral knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Bishop Verot likes a good challenge. Canterbury and Gateway Charter will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
