In what's become a running theme this season, the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 79-35 win over Mansfield Legacy at home. Given Duncanville's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while Mansfield Legacy is ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Duncanville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makenzie White, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points White has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Coleman, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Duncanville's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Mansfield Legacy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season.
Duncanville will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lake Ridge at 6:00 p.m. As for Mansfield Legacy, they will head out on the road to square off against Mansfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for Mansfield and three for Mansfield Legacy.
