The Algonac Muskrats are taking a road trip to  take on the Grosse Pointe North Norsemen  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Algonac will be strutting in after a  win while Grosse Pointe North will be coming in after a  defeat.
Algonac was handed a six-run  loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene  on Saturday. They skirted past Franklin  11-10.
The team  relied heavily on  Michael Kenel, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high.  Layna Kunnath also deserves some recognition as  she  got her first  hit of the season.
 Algonac was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .591. They are 3-1 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
 Meanwhile, Grosse Pointe North fell victim to Lakeland and their airtight pitching crew  on Saturday. They took  a  5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Norsemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Algonac's record now sits at 4-7-1. As for Grosse Pointe North, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.
 Algonac couldn't quite finish off Grosse Pointe North when the teams last played  back in April of 2024 and fell  6-4. Can the Muskrats avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
